- The first step is to download the Aprilaire Smart Home app.
- Once you have that downloaded, open it up and go to the Devices tab.
- From there, select the thermostat you would like to control and enter your username and password.
- That’s it! You’re now able to control the temperature from your phone!
How do I connect my Aprilaire to WIFI?
Control Thermostat by Phone- Connecting your Aprilaire to WIFI is easy. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Aprilaire Smart Stat or any of our 4500 series thermostats
- APRILAIRE_WIRELESS_MODULE (this part number only applies to models 5802, 5830, and 5858)
- Computer with internet access
- Internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE 10 or 11)
Connect Aprilaire to WIFI – Step by step guide
1. Control Thermostat by Phone- Once you have your Aprilaire Smart Stat and APRILAIRE_WIRELESS_MODULE, locate the WIFI antenna on the module. This is a small, square patch that is located on the left side of the module.
2. Control Thermostat by Phone- Take one end of your Ethernet cable and plug it into the WIFI antenna port on your Aprilaire Wireless Module. Plug the other end of that cable into any available network jack in your house (looks like a computer plug but usually blue). You can find these jacks near or behind computers, TVs, DVD players, modems, and other electronic devices.
3. Plug the power cord into the back of your Aprilaire Wireless Module and then plug the other end into any available power outlet. You can find these outlets near or behind TVs, DVD players, modems, and other electronic devices. Powering on your Aprilaire module is as easy as pushing the power button on the module.
4. From your computer, open a browser and type in: 192.168.1.254 (the ‘1’ will be a number other than 1 depending upon what network is being broadcast from your modem or router)
5. You’ll then see the following options:
-Add Access Point: This will add your Aprilaire Wireless Module to your home’s network, allowing you to control it from anywhere in your house.
-Manage Network: Here you can see all the devices that are connected to your network and their MAC addresses. You can also change your network name and password, as well as enable parental controls.
-Advanced: This will give you access to more advanced settings for your Aprilaire Wireless Module.
6. Choose “Add Access Point” and follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll be prompted to enter your network name and password. Once you’ve entered that information, click “Submit.”
7. Congratulations! You’ve now connected your Aprilaire to WIFI. You can control your Aprilaire from anywhere in your house by opening a browser and typing in: 192.168.1.254.

Control Thermostat by Phone- Yes! You can use Amazon’s Echo or Echo Dot to control your Aprilaire. Here’s how:
1. From your computer, open a browser and type in: 192.168.1.254 (the ‘1’ will be a number other than 1 depending upon what network is being broadcast from your modem or router)
2. Choose “Add Access Point” and follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll be prompted to enter your network name and password. Once you’ve entered that information, click “Submit.”
3. Congratulations! You’ve now connected your Aprilaire to WIFI. Now go to Amazon’s Alexa app and make a new device called “Aprilaire.”
4. In the Amazon Alexa app, select “Smart Home” from the main menu and then follow the instructions to discover devices. To connect your Aprilaire to Amazon’s Echo or Echo Dot, open a browser and type in: http://alexa/connect/devices (replacing ‘Alexa’ with your device name). You’ll be prompted to sign in with your Amazon account information.
5. Once you’re signed in, you’ll see a list of all the devices that are connected to your Amazon account. Select “Aprilaire” and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish connecting your Aprilaire to Amazon’s Echo or Echo Dot.
